Faulkner Law Firm is committed to civil trial practice. Yet the firm is unusual in that it combines two very different areas of trial practice: one is a trial practice representing plaintiffs who are victims of personal injury or discrimination; the other is a trial practice which defends healthcare providers in medical malpractice litigation. Several factors unify these two seemingly disparate areas of practice:

  • Both practices require strong trial skills;
  • Both practices require a full and complete understanding of medicine, whether it be in our plaintiff's practice, to fully portray the consequences of a personal injury to a victim or in our medical defense practice, to set forth a physician's rationale for the treatment selected;
  • Both practices often result in hard fought trials.

Philosophically, it's been said by some that the best way to avoid war is to be fully prepared to wage it. While settlement admittedly is a fact of life in personal injury and civil litigation, our firm believes the best way to achieve appropriate resolution of a case for our clients is our opponents' continued awareness that this firm has the experience, preparation, and resolve to try a case to jury verdict if necessary.

The Office's history is also known to our clients and opponents. This Office began in 1983, as branch office of Lord, Bissell & Brook. When Lord, Bissell & Brook chose to focus on its corporate practice, this Office continued its commitment to trial practice, becoming Faulkner & Jensen LLC in 2002 and now Faulkner Law Firm LLC.

The Office's history means that we possess the balance gained from doing both plaintiff and defense work; we can often see both sides of an issue, provide insightful analysis, and often anticipate an opponent's next move. That history also means we combine Chicago-strength credentials with Rockford practicality. Our attorneys have long-standing roots in the Rockford area which provides knowledge of local preferences and ties them into the practicality and common sense of the Northern Illinois region.
